In January 1996 the government Defence Science and Technology Organisation (DSTO) loaned their heritage rocket collection to the museum to give the public an opportunity to see more then 30 years of South Australian rocket technology history. The types of rockets on display were all fired from the Woomera rocket range, South Australia, during the 1950-80 era.
