Would You Like To Become A Member Of The
South Australian Aviation Museum?

The Museum is a non-profit incorporated organisation operated by volunteers. We currently have approximately 105 members.

Membership is open to any interested person subject to the approval of its members. It offers a friendly atmosphere where those interested in aviation can offer their services in areas such as restoration, display, administration and research.

Membership fees are compulsory and are payable at the end of the financial year in June for the following financial year, or pro-rata if joining during the year. It is important to note that Full Membership requires every member to attend the Museum on a relatively regular basis, and at least once every three months to work with other members on desk duty. Such duty is not onerous and gives members the opportunity to meet the public.

There are two categories of membership—‘Full’ and ‘Friends of the Museum’.

 FULL MEMBERSHIP

A Full Member is entitled to the following:

  • full voting rights
  • eligibility to serve on the Executive Committee after twelve months of membership
  • free entry for yourself and immediate family to the Museum and organised functions
  • receipt of the monthly newsletter (Props and Mags)
  • library borrowing  rights.

A Full Member must:

  • agree to a probationary period of 6 months and meet the criteria for membership at the completion of the period
  • agree to abide by the rules as laid down by the Constitution of the Museum
  • agree to abide by and understand the Work, Health and Safety Regulations
  • have read and understood the provisions as outlined in the Museum’s Volunteer Insurance Policy
  • undertake rostered desk duty
  • agree to obtain a satisfactory National Police Check
  • pay an annual membership fee of $50.00 or pro-rata as advised.
  • purchase a shirt with the Museum logo attached to wear when performing desk duty. This clearly identifies members to the general public and enhances the Museum’s professionalism.
