Wings on Wednesday for the Aero 145!

A group of SAAM volunteers led by project leader Chris Doudy attached the wings to Aero 145 VH-ZCL in Hangar 1 today, 3rd February 2021.
ZCL flew as VH-WWC with Chris’s father’s Commodore Airlines on tuna spotting and lighthouse supply out of Port Lincoln in the 60s/70s, and it was a labour of love for Chris to lead the restoration/reassembly of the aircraft after its donation to SAAM in by the Charlie Zulu Lima Trust in 2018. SAAM volunteers recovered the disassembled aircraft from Pallamana on 1st September 2018. Well done Chris and all the volunteers who participated!
The restoration is now substantially complete with only minor works remaining, and can be viewed in Hangar 1 beneath the Dakota’s starboard wing.
